A Day in the Garage.

After yesterday's day in the woods, I spent today in the garage. I'm trying to make room for everything in the garage. I should be done tomorrow.

I filled the wood piles in the garage and added a little pile between them. I now have 2.25 face cords of nice, dry Oak ready to go. I have more piles outside.

We finished off some left overs and made a little treat tonight.
In keeping with Trobairitz' and Bob's posts of apple dumplings made with Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. We used Pillsbury Cescent Rolls and Hillshire Farm Beef Lit'l Smokies.
Cut each Crescent Roll dough triangle into 3 long skinny triangles, wrap a Lit'l Smokie and place them on a parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes. Nancy likes a little Parsley on hers. Makes 24 little 2 bite snacks.

This got me reminiscing about my years in Elementary School. My very favorite lunch when I was at Washburn Elementary School in Bloomington, MN was their Pizzaburgers. I still have the old recipe book from a school fund raiser. We made pizzaburgers a while ago and they tasted exactly like I remembered. We don't make them often, they're just a special treat. Comfort Food !!!

The book.

The recipe. It makes 36 pizzaburgers. The recipe could be halved. Luncheon Ham is Spam.

The finished product... mmmmmmm Tasty!!!

  1. How cool is it that you still have that recipe book?

The pizza burgers make me think of a pizza cookie recipe from when I was in elementary school.

The little smokies looks like a great idea. I think I can make them with some Tofurky Vegan Italian Sausages. Hmmm now you have me thinking.....

    1. I'm sure you could come up with a Vegan approved alternative recipe. If the Tofurky has a good taste, they'ed probably be pretty good!!! If the Vegan sausages are regular full size, you could roll one up in a full size Crescent Roll triangle...

  2. Erik:

I love that old Elementary School Recipe book, so old school looking at it now.

You are making so many appetizers. I would have a hard time walking by a plate of those and not picking one or two up every time I walked by. Does this mean you have regular meals too ?

    1. The little roll ups were just a late night treat. We eat pretty normal meals (usually).

    2. I had the pictures of the pizzaburgers from the last time we made them. I have a few food related pictures stored in my computer. You never know when they'll come in handy.
I have a few from one day when I felt creative and made hot dogs with sauteed onions, jalapenos, green pepper, home made green sauce made from tomatillos and green chilies, a little cheese on a toasted bun.... mmmmm getting hungry.
