Some Winter Sunshine...

This winter seems to be dragging along pretty slowly but it's really about half way through. It can be very easy to overlook the beauty of snow and only see the bleakness of winter. So, to show that there is some brightness in the winter world of the frozen north, here are a few shots of today's winter sunshine...

I tried to capture the glittery diamond look the most recent snow has...

Some of the sunsets have been pretty phenomenal. I'll try and remember to shoot a few of them too...

  1. Sunshine has that ability to make winter less tedious. We are pretty much stuck in the gloomy section of this winter. I'd rather be looking at open ground- brown or green. This stuff here is hard as cement and there's more on the way and more sub sub zero, too.

    Your wood sheds are impressive!

    1. If it weren't for the sunshine I don't know how anyone could handle the winters here.
      Oh yeah, more cold! LOL
I need to build a single large wood shed.

  2. Nice, glittery snow. Now time for some studded TKC's on the Ninja…

There is someone in Anchorage with studded TKCs on his CBR sport bike and he rides most of the winter.

Yes, the snow makes your world nice & bright. Our world is cloudy and grey, sort of dull and depressing

out West we don't mind snow as long as it doesn't stay too long

  4. Snow and sun is exactly the kind of weather that helped me endure the long Alberta winters. Beautiful, Erik.

  6. It's hard to believe sometimes that all of that sun will eventually make all of that snow go away, yielding to green. Keep the faith Erik!

  7. Nice pictures Erik, I particularly like the sparkly snow. Winter does drag on doesn't it. I find by about January/February I am so tired of the grey and gloom and early darkness. Luckily we have been having fairly decent weather here lately.
