All this talk about snow, and Richard posting a link to a BMW R-motor powered snow blower got me thinking....
And lastly.... This might keep the plow drivers from filling the driveway back up with snow...
None of the images are mine. They were all found with a Google image search...

Nice images. What is installed on the front of the trucks? I don't think I want to be near the outlet.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Google, those are Russian snow removal trucks with surplus Mig 15 and 17 engines.
DeleteSeems like a good way to burn a lot of fuel quickly!

Bob,
DeleteI thought that you may get some inspiration from the "R" version....
You never know what pictures might show up here.
DeleteErik I think Bob just threw a challenge at you - Best plow shot on a Ninja. I'm just glad I don't live in Western Canada. Snow - it's a four letter word! (Just kidding - a winter without snow is just a total waste of time! If it's going to be cold you might as well bring on the snow, at least it's pretty to look at.)
ReplyDeleteThe best feature of the snow is that it covers up all the junk laying around. All of a sudden, even the dingiest area looks pristine again!
DeleteI like snow and winter, just not the bitter cold and the endlessness of it!
DeleteThe fireplace will get a workout this winter!
Erik,
ReplyDeleteHave you seen this 3WD motorcycle-sidecar rig?

I had not seen that... pretty cool
DeleteOooh think of the fun one could have with a few of those. You'd be the life of the snow party.
ReplyDeleteI used to have an old '78 Ford 1/2 ton 4x4 with a 7 1/2 foot Western plow on it. I kind of wish I still had it. Last winter was tough, and all the people around here thought it was a "light snow" winter... I can't wait.
DeleteErik:
DeleteI used to have a Jeep YJ with BFG Mud Terrain 32" tires, with a 2" lift. Every winter I was just waiting for the snow to come, and it never did.
after a few years I got discouraged at not being able to use the 4x4, so I sold it. Not many snow adventures out here

I have been shopping around for a used snow plow for a while. I've been told that my manual transmission 1 ton truck was less than ideal but I wasn't looking at plowing commercially.
DeleteGrowing up in western Canada, I've shoveled my fair share of snow. Not only from driveways and walkways, but from rooftops too. Mostly with a big scoop shovel, until I was old enough to operate the old Craftsman snow blower, yep those were the days. Now it is rain and I don't have to shovel rain.
