I love your video. Your flakes were bigger and more impressive than our little spit balls. I love the cat making itself heard. I have a big mouth cat. Most talkative around 6 AM.
I was taken to task by a Michigander for calling today "winter". I say if it hits 17 degrees it's not fall anymore. I think that's in the rule book.
I am constantly amazed at your energy, and how straight all those cuts are. I get tired just thinking about how I would even start to drag those logs out, cut them to fireplace size and stack them in piles in your large garage building
I wish I had more energy! A sharp chain makes the saw cut nice! It's kind of cheating, but the logs were downed about 5 years ago when an Oak disease came through the area and killed a lot of trees. They're dry, just waiting to be cut, split and burned.
I have my eyes on 2 large 15"-18" Oak trees that blew over in a storm this summer. I don't know how I'd get them out of the woods though. Green Oak that size weighs 500+ pounds an 8' length. There's probably 100+ feet of log to cut up!
Okay, you talked me into it. Is my room ready yet ? you know, the one you were going to put in the corner of your BIG barn. I don't think I can win with 2 against 1
I think your kitty was just upset you weren't videoing him.
I am always torn when I see weather like this. I love how you get the beautiful sunshine and chilly days but then I see pics and videos of snow and I think - never again.
Sure is pretty when the landscape is all covered. We used to love to go out for walks in it when we lived in BC - hated shoveling it. Now I am an Oregon weather weenie.
I use this blog to share my motorcycle road trips, and a small portion of my daily life, with my friends and family. It is a constantly changing work in progress!
Thanks for looking, and please, feel free to leave a comment!!!
From one of my favorite motorcycle movies, "One Week".
"When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold onto them. They are the lifeboats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely elusive. So the question becomes or should have been all along, what would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live. What lifeboat would you grab onto? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfill? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?" ------- Ben Tyler
Took a look down a westbound road, Right away I made my choice Headed out to my big two-wheeler, I was tired of my own voice Took a bead on the northern plains And just rolled that power on
Twelve hours out of Mackinaw City Stopped in a bar to have a brew Met a girl and we had a few drinks And I told her what I'd decided to do
She looked out the window a long long moment Then she looked into my eyes She didn't have to say a thing, I knew what she was thinkin'
Roll, roll me away, Won't you roll me away tonight I too am lost, I feel double-crossed And I'm sick of what's wrong and what's right
We never even said a word, We just walked out and got on that bike And we rolled And we rolled clean out of sight
We rolled across the high plains Deep into the mountains Felt so good to me Finally feelin' free
Somewhere along a high road The air began to turn cold She said she missed her home I headed on alone
Stood alone on a mountain top, Starin' out at the great divide I could go east, I could go west, It was all up to me to decide
Just then I saw a young hawk flyin' And my soul began to rise And pretty soon My heart was singin'
Roll, roll me away, I'm gonna roll me away tonight Gotta keep rollin, gotta keep ridin', Keep searchin' till I find what's right
And as the sunset faded I spoke to the faintest first starlight And I said next time, Next time we'll get it right.

Wow. Nice oak! Ever have boards made?

I guess I never thought about getting any of it made into lumber.
DeleteScreamer is a talkative cat. Almost to the point of being annoying, especially when he's hungry!
I agree, it's Winter when I can no longer take the bikes out for a ride because of low temps or the darn white stuff.

Nice kitty commentary. Kind of rude of me but it's nice to see someone else with snow ;-)
ReplyDeleteScreamer likes to talk, a lot!
DeleteWinter is slowly creeping in around here. It's only a matter of time before it's here to stay.

DeleteIt works out great because I'll take the snow anytime over your traffic and crowds.
I agree, I'll take cold and snow over crowds, people, and traffic.

You're not supposed to shovel the stuff. Since this is a moto-blog I could add this reference to the BMW powered R-blower?
