Surprise!!!... now with more pictures..

What a wonderful thing to wake up to... And yes, they are from this morning, not January!

The chairs on the back patio...

The front sidewalk and steps...

The front yard...

I went out to clear the driveway. It's some heavy wet snow, and it;s still falling.

I measured 11" on the steps and 9 in a tree sheltered area of the driveway.

While I was outside, a bird took advantage of the shelter of the open garage.
Here he is in the window above the workbench.

And picking at some seed spilled on the floor...

While the rest of his buddies were outside entertaining the cats...

I finished the driveway and wanted nothing more to do with snow for a while. I just want to enjoy this....

More snow removal later, or I'll get smart and wait for the solar snow remover to come out...

Oh, for another motorcycle blog with a super ride report through Yosemite.. Check out...THIS.

  1. I heard on the radio. I'm sorry. This was a record setting year for snowfall. This is one reason why I didn't move up to the Bayfield area.

If you were in the snowmobile or ski business you would be dancing in the streets. If you could find the streets...

    1. Now we're losing power. I've had the power go out twice while trying to post a reply.

It's a good thing I have a sense of humor about all this snow... or I'd be going "postal"!!!!

I'm going out to clear a path to the street and open the end of the driveway! I'll be back.

  2. Wait a sec! Weren't you just posting beautiful, sunshiny pictures with almost no snow on the ground, declaring riding season was a'coming? The scenery is beautiful when you can take it for itself, and not hold the thought of riding. Good on you for seeing the beauty. Good luck on seeing it through!

  3. So, you too?? We're hearing varying reports of accumulation here, from 8" to 14". I believe we are somewhere in between. Been hearing gunshots in the valley.....no wait, those cracks are trees giving up.

    Good luck Erik!

    1. When I can find my boots that I foolishly packed away, I'll try and get a snow depth... The plow just went by and tossed a huge drift into the driveway!!

  4. As sweet as the deer with their snow caps might look, the weather for sure is no fun? How did that happen? And I have been walking around in a T-Shirt in London (England) today.

  5. Erik:

What happened to your Snow Blower Repair VooDoo ? What Lori said above ^^ You were so happy just a couple of days ago.

It's also T-shirt weather here to, and beach weather for this weekend. You'll know we will be thinking about you

  7. Ick blah. I don't like surprises like that.

Just when it all melted. I can't believe how much snow you got overnight. And the heavy stuff is the worst for breaking tree limbs.

    Fingers crossed it melts soon.

    1. The UPS man just came to the door. He said that 25 miles away, in the little town of Barnes, they got maybe 1/2 (half) inch.

    1. On the plate are 2 Quesadillas, filled with home made Pico de gallo and real Mexican melting cheese. One is a little more well done than the other..
